You can switch them off at any time with the [Cookie settings](https://aacaliforniaroofing.com/privacy-policy/#cookie-settings) link at the bottom of every page. - Giving us your details is voluntary, but without them we cannot reply to your request. - We do not sell your personal information. ## Who we are AA California Roofing is a California licensed roofing contractor (CSLB License #1147688). In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean AA California Roofing, and “the site” means aacaliforniaroofing.com. The site, its forms and the record of cookie choices are run for us by our marketing service provider, NZ Marketing, with the service providers named in “Who receives your information” below. ## What we collect - **Booking form** (on the home page and our service pages): your name, email address, phone number, the service you need, your address, and a preferred date and time for the visit. - **Contact form** (on the [contact page](https://aacaliforniaroofing.com/contact-us/)): your name, email address, phone number, the service you need and your message. - **With every form:** the page you sent it from, the time you sent it and the notices shown next to the button. - **Phone calls:** your phone number, the time and length of the call and what you tell us about your property and your roof. Calls to and from our phone numbers may be recorded, for quality and to keep an accurate record of your request. - **Emails:** your email address and what you write to us. - **Technical data:** your IP address, device type, operating system, browser type and language, and a general location derived from your IP address. - **Use of the site:** the pages you view, scrolling, clicks on links to other sites, file downloads, interactions with forms and embedded videos, and search terms entered on the site. - **How you reached us:** the page you first landed on, the website or search that sent you (for example Google or Yelp), campaign tags in the link (utm\_source, utm\_medium, utm\_campaign, utm\_term, utm\_content) and ad click ids in the link (gclid, gbraid, wbraid, fbclid, msclkid). Your browser keeps this itself and sends it to us only with a form you choose to send; if you visited us before in the last 90 days, it also carries how you reached us that first time. - **Cookies and similar ids:** the cookies and browser storage listed under “Cookies and similar tools”, including an anonymous visitor id for your cookie choice. Please do not send payment card numbers, bank details or Social Security numbers through the forms or by email. ## Cookies and similar tools ### Google Analytics The site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use it, and our ad measurement tools to measure our ads. They start on your first scroll, click, key press, tap or focus on a form field; the cookie notice at the bottom of the screen says so when you arrive. Google Analytics records the use of the site and the technical data described in “What we collect”. The Google tag on the site is also set to detect an email address, phone number or postal address entered in our forms and send it to Google in hashed form (scrambled with the one-way SHA-256 algorithm before it is sent). Google uses this to improve measurement accuracy. Google explains its use of data from sites like ours at [How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services](https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites). ### Google reviews widget Pages that show our Google reviews load the widget from Trustindex (cdn.trustindex.io), the provider of the reviews plugin, and load reviewer profile pictures from Google’s servers. Like any request for a file from another server, this sends those companies your IP address and basic browser information. ### Google Maps on the contact page The contact page embeds a Google Map of our office. Switch Analytics or Advertising off and save: those tools stop at once, do not load again in this browser and their cookies are deleted. You can switch them back on the same way. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser’s privacy or cookie settings, where most browsers let you block all cookies or only those set by other websites; the site keeps working without them. Google also offers the [Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on](https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). Like most websites, the server that hosts the site may record technical information about each request, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. ## Why we use it - **Form, call and email details:** to reply to your request, call or email you back, schedule an inspection or estimate, prepare estimates and contracts, carry out the roofing work and handle permits for your property, and to contact you about your request and our roofing services as described in “Calls, text messages and emails” below. - **The notices shown on the form:** to keep a record of what you agreed to. - **Records of our work:** to keep the business, tax and contract records the law requires. - **Technical data and use of the site:** to run and secure the site, to protect it and our business against fraud, spam and misuse, and to see which pages help visitors so we can improve them. - **How you reached us and ad click ids:** to know which search, website, campaign or ad brought each request, and to measure our ads. - **Hashed contact details:** when you came to us from an ad, your email address and phone number in hashed form (SHA-256, so the platform can match them but not read them), with the ad click id, so the advertising platform can tell us that the ad led to a request. - **Cookie choice and visitor id:** to remember your choice and keep a record of it. ## Calls, text messages and emails If you send us your phone number through a form, you agree that AA California Roofing may call and text you about your request and our roofing services, as the notice next to the form’s button explains, including automated texts, autodialed calls and prerecorded or AI-generated voice messages. Agreeing to this is not a condition of any purchase; message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP to any text to stop texts, or tell us by phone or email and we will stop. If you send us only your email address, we email you about your request. Calls to and from our phone numbers may be recorded, for quality and to keep an accurate record of your request. With each form request we keep a record of the notice shown to you, the page you sent it from and the time you sent it. ## Who receives your information We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with other companies for their own marketing. It goes only to these recipients, each for the purpose named: - **Analytics provider (Google, Google Analytics):** the use of the site, technical data, campaign tags and ad click ids, and the hashed form details described above, to measure the use of the site. - **Advertising platforms (Google) for ad measurement:** ad click ids and hashed contact details, to measure our ads. - **Maps, reviews and web fonts (Google Maps; Trustindex, with reviewer pictures from Google; Google Fonts):** technical data, when a page shows a map, our Google reviews or the site’s fonts. - **Website host and email (our hosting provider; Google Gmail):** technical data, to serve the site, and your form request, to deliver it to us by email. - **Lead delivery (Cloudflare; Google Gemini; Anthropic; WhatsApp):** what you send through a form, the page you sent it from and how you reached us. Cloudflare stores a copy for our marketing service provider; an AI model (Google Gemini) checks it for spam first; AI models (Anthropic) write and check the short notice that tells our team about your request on WhatsApp. The record of your cookie choice is kept on Cloudflare too. - **Our marketing service provider (NZ Marketing):** runs the site, the forms and the tools above for us, and may see your request when it maintains them. - **AA California Roofing’s team:** everything you send us, to answer you and do the work. - **Permit offices**, when a job needs a building permit and the application requires the property address or owner details. - **A financing company**, only if you choose to apply for financing. Financing options, when offered, are subject to third-party lender approval, and the lender’s own privacy policy applies to your application. - **When the law requires it**, for example to answer a subpoena or court order, or to protect our rights and the safety of others. California residents may ask whether we disclosed personal information to third parties for their direct marketing (California Civil Code section 1798.83). We do not make such disclosures. ## Giving us information is voluntary You do not have to give us any personal information. Without your name and a phone number or email address we cannot reply to your request or give you an estimate. You can use the site with analytics and advertising tools switched off. ## Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signal. The site does not change what it does when it receives these signals, because there is no single agreed standard for what it should do. Other companies, namely Google through Google Analytics and the embedded maps, may collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you use the site. To stop the analytics and advertising tools, use the [Cookie settings](https://aacaliforniaroofing.com/privacy-policy/#cookie-settings) link at the bottom of every page. ## How long we keep information - **Form requests, emails and call notes:** for as long as we need them to answer you, complete and stand behind the work, and meet our legal, tax and contract record-keeping duties. You may also withdraw any consent you gave: withdrawing stops future use, it does not undo use before it. You can stop our calls and texts at any time as described above. We may need to confirm who you are before acting, and we may keep records the law requires us to keep. ## Children's privacy The site is meant for adults arranging roofing work. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it. ## Security and transfers The site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, so what you type into our forms travels encrypted between your browser and the site, and access to our systems is limited to the people who need it. No website or email system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Our service providers may process your information in the United States and in other countries where they operate. ## Links to other websites The site links to other websites, such as Google Maps.
