# Roof Financing in Los Angeles

AA California Roofing offers roof financing in Los Angeles through a third-party lender, for roof replacements and repairs. The lender, not AA California Roofing, decides approval, the rate and the terms. To ask what is available for your project, send us a note through the [contact page](https://aacaliforniaroofing.com/contact-us/).

Ask us about same-day approvals and easy application options.

## How roof financing works

1. **Estimate first.** We inspect the roof and give you a written estimate. The amount you apply for comes from that estimate, so you know what the loan covers.
2. **Application.** You apply with the lender, and we supply the project details it needs. Financing options, when offered, are subject to third-party lender approval.
3. **The lender's decision.** The lender reviews the application and sets the amount approved, the rate, the term and the monthly payment. Those terms are in the lender's agreement, which is separate from our roofing contract.
4. **The roofing contract.** You sign our written contract for the work. Residential projects come with a three-day right to cancel after signing.
5. **The work.** The roof is installed, the permit is closed, and payments follow the schedule in the contract and in the lender's agreement.

One state rule protects you whichever way you pay: California limits the down payment a contractor can ask for on a home improvement job to 10 percent of the contract price or a thousand dollars, whichever is less. The Contractors State License Board explains the rule and its one exception, for contractors with a blanket performance and payment bond on file.

## Why finance your roof

- Low, manageable monthly payments
- No large upfront investment
- Upgrade your home immediately
- Improve energy efficiency and reduce utility bills
- Flexible options for various credit profiles
- Fast approvals with simple paperwork

Financing makes the most sense when the roof cannot wait: an active leak, a failing underlayment, or a sale or refinance that needs a sound roof. If the roof has a few good years left, planning the replacement and saving for it costs less in interest.

## What you can finance

- A full [roof replacement](https://aacaliforniaroofing.com/new-roof-installation/): tear-off, deck repair and a new shingle, tile or flat roof
- Larger [roof repairs](https://aacaliforniaroofing.com/roof-repairs/), such as rebuilding flashing or replacing a damaged section
- A [flat roof](https://aacaliforniaroofing.com/flat-roof-services/) replacement or re-cover, including the roof insulation the Energy Code can require on low-slope roofs
- Lifting a tile roof to replace the underlayment and resetting the tiles

Whether a given project or amount qualifies is the lender's decision, so ask before you plan around it.

## What to have ready when you apply

Each lender sets its own list, but these are the items lenders commonly ask for:

- The written estimate, with the project scope and total
- A government-issued photo ID
- Income information, such as recent pay stubs or tax returns
- The property address, and proof of ownership if the lender asks for it
- Your current monthly housing costs

## Questions to ask before you sign a financing offer

- What is the APR, and is it fixed for the whole term?
- How many months is the term, and what is the total you will pay over the life of the loan?
- Is there a promotional period, and what happens to the interest if the balance is not paid off by the end of it?
- Is there a penalty for paying the loan off early?
- Is the loan secured by your home, or unsecured?
- Does choosing financing change the price of the roof?

Get the answers in writing from the lender. Our contract covers the roof; the loan agreement covers the money, and you should read both.

## Other ways Los Angeles homeowners pay for a roof

- **Savings.** No interest to pay, and planning a replacement before the roof fails avoids paying for emergency repairs on top of it.
- **A home equity loan or line of credit.** Borrowing against the house often carries a lower rate than unsecured financing, but the home is the collateral and approval usually takes longer.
- **A cash-out refinance.** Mainly worth it when you are refinancing the mortgage anyway.
- **Homeowners insurance.** Policies generally cover sudden damage, such as a fallen tree or a roof torn by wind, and not wear and age. Read your policy and call your insurer before work starts; photos of the damage help the claim.
